1. Product Overview


The DIY Camera G1M Basic Edition is equipped with an iCatch V39M camera mainboard and an IMX283 camera module, interconnected via a board-to-board connector.


This DIY camera system is built around the iCatch V39M chip, supporting H.264 video encoding at up to 4K@60FPS (interpolated), 4K@30FPS, 2.7K@60FPS, and 1080P@120FPS. The camera module utilizes a Sony IMX283 1-inch CMOS sensor with an effective 20-megapixel resolution, paired with a high-quality 7G2P lens offering a 102° field of view.


The board integrates a Type-C interface, HDMI port, TF card slot (supporting up to 512GB), battery interface, two control buttons, a digital silicon microphone, and a buzzer. It is expandable to include Ethernet, Wi-Fi, display screen, UART, DC power input, 5-way ADC button and PWM. The PCB measures 38x38mm, with the complete camera module standing 48mm in height and weighing 50g.

3. Interface Description


1-inch sensor camera


IMX283 L1117C Camera Module:

IMX283 L1117C Camera Module supports capturing 20-megapixel high-resolution photos and recording 4K video at 30FPS.


USB Type-C Interface:
This interface supports 5V power input per the USB standard, providing power to the camera module and enabling battery charging. When connected to a computer via USB, it allows direct access to files on the TF card (functioning as a mass storage device) and can also operate as a PC camera (USB webcam). Additionally, it reserves one camera control UART3 and one camera debug UART1 serial port (serial port functions require the dedicated G1-USB serial adapter board).

Micro HDMI Interface:
The Micro HDMI interface supports video signal output at up to 4K@30FPS.

Battery Interface:
Supports operation via a battery with a voltage range of 6.8V to 8.4V. A high-voltage, high-density lithium battery within 7.4V to 7.7V is recommended for optimal performance.


Dual Control Buttons:
Comprises a Power Button (Button A) and a Confirm Button (Button B). The Power Button controls power on/off and mode switching, while the Confirm Button is used for photo capture and video recording.
